CONCORD….the home of Walden Country, Inc.

Although I have never resided here, Concord has always been a place that felt like home. Growing up in a nearby town, it was not only a place to visit, shop and learn about history and literature, it was a place to walk, sit, view wildlife and think. These last four are of the utmost importance to me! Despite my sometimes public professions (Realtor, trainer, commentator), I have found that solitary pursuits feed the soul and produce possibilities that can turn into reality…and Concord provides the perfect setting!

When it came time for me to create my company …it was to be a new type of real estate company, one that would change the way the business was done…I knew it would be centered in Concord. My husband and business partner, Doug chose the name to reflect some of what the area was know for. Walden Country it was!!! And we did change our profession, here. Agents became more central to the transaction and better compensated for their hard work. The International aspect of our business developed as referrals from around the world came to us and went from us. We prospered.

We headquartered in Concord for 16 years with 4 other offices in adjoining towns. As our enterprise grew, and grew, we were taken away from working with our buyers and sellers somewhat as we focused on our business and our agents and their sales. Together, we sold thousands and thousands of homes. But the joy of being personally involved with buyers and sellers was a bit far away. The Edwards Team, Doug, Charity (our daughter) and I did have the opportunity to work personally with clients but we were limited by time. Try as we did, we could not find more than 24 hours in any given day. It was time to return to our roots and become sales agents again. Merging RE/MAX Walden Country with RE/MAX Landmark in 2007 was a good thing for us.

Now part of RE/MAX Landmark at Walden Country, in Concord and 12 other towns, The Edwards Team and Walden Country, Inc. focus on our clients, customers, friends, neighbors and family as they transition in and out of homes. The new company is creating a new office for us, and of course in CONCORD. But for now, we use small temporary quarters in Concord to meet customers and clients and use the other offices for larger meetings when necessary. We are looking with great anticipation to our new permanent space in Concord…for me the only place to be!

One last thing…did you notice? Our Concord life is based on people and relationships. From my first day selling real estate on Main Street 23 years ago it was evident, there is something different about the people you meet, here. It doesn’t seem to matter where they come from, but we keep in contact. For example, a business contact, now in Austria and another from Denver stopping in the Concord office, and many Concord residents just calling to say Hi…oh and then there is our Concord Holiday Open House at the Concord Museum…packed with our folks to over flowing. THANK YOU CONCORD! I hope to see you soon by the Bridge or Great Meadows, or Main Street…or…!
